Trump administration banned Huawei a few years ago and now, it riddles with key shortcomings such as Google Services and 5G. However, that hasn’t stopped Huawei from innovating especially when it comes to the design aspects. Huawei P60 series blew smartphone enthusiasts and turns out the upcoming Huawei Mate 60 series will take it a step further.

We recently got a glimpse at the back panel of an unreleased Huawei smartphone which is believed to be the Huawei Mate 60. It sports a circular camera bump at the back which is quite a norm in Chinese devices nowadays. However, the design is something that we can term as ‘unique’.

The rear circular camera bump likely sports a quad-camera setup thanks to the four openings arranged as vertices of a 2×2 square. However, what’s interesting is the inclusion of other openings and notches that populate the ginormous camera bump on the purported Mate 60.

The report suggests there’s a color temperature sensor, a laser, a periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide lens onboard Mate 60. We could even see a P60 series-like variable aperture on the primary sensor. There’s also an automatic scene-based switching as well although that remains to be seen. A Huawei branding is located at the bottom of the back panel.

Huawei Mate 50 series made its debut in September last year while Mate 40 series did its debut in October 2020. With that being said, we could see Mate 60 series sometime around the same time this year although there’s no official launch date available as of now.
