Huawei Nova Flip Specs: The Affordable Flip-style Phone

For a start, Nova Flip is a flip-style foldable phone — similar to what Pocket 2 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 are based on. Huawei has introduced a water drop hinge mechanism that has reportedly survived 1.2 million trends tested by SGS Switzerland.

When it comes to the specs, the Huawei Nova Flip sports a 6.94” LTPO OLED panel boasting an FHD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz. For the unversed, this is one of the largest inner foldable displays akin to Pocket 2 while dwarfing Galaxy Z Flip6’s 6.7-inch.

Fold the device, and you’ll find a 2.14” OLED panel sitting on top of the back panel adjoining a dual camera setup arranged in a vertical stack. As usual, the cover display can be used for apps like calendars, music, weather (compatible with limited first-party) plus as a viewfinder.

On the optics front, we have a 50MP primary snapper at the back which is a 1/1.56” RYYB sensor, paired alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper. On the front, you get a 32MP sensor tucked nicely in a punch-hole cut-out.

The fashion-forward affordable Nova Flip comes paired with a Kirin 8000 SoC that we have seen with Nova 12 and 12 Pro. Apparently, Huawei didn’t disclose the chipset at the time of writing this and the aforementioned chipset comes from a Geekbench listing that we saw a few days ago. It is possible that Huawei could be using a different chipset although the Kirin 8000 SoC seems like a final deal with the device.

On the software end, we have HarmonyOS 4.2 taking over along with various AI features up its sleeves. It includes image generation, text selection from images, subject removal, and so on.

The device uses a 4,400mAh battery with one of the fastest charging 66W tech that foldable phones have to date much like its flagship sibling Pocket 2.
