  • Huawei Nova Flip appears on Geekbench under codename PSD-AL00.
  • The phone appeared with Kirin 8000 SoC, the same as Nova 12 Pro making the Flip less powerful.
  • Nova Flip will pick up the largest inner display at 6.94" as it launches on August 5.

We have seen a tonne of leaks around Huawei Nova Flip including live images posted on Weibo by influencers in China. Turns out its system-on-chip (SoC) was a major mystery but not anymore.

The Nova Flip just surfaced on the Geekbench listing revealing the choice of chipset known as the Kirin 8000 SoC. The phone bearing model number PSD-AL00 achieved 1,000 points on single-core and 2,49 points on multicore tests, but that raises some questions.

Huawei Nova Flip Geekbench Benchmark Unveiled

The Kirin 8000 SoC is the same that we saw on the Huawei Nova 12 Pro. Choosing the same chipset puts Nova Flip’s performance in question since the Chinese smartphone maker could choose a better chipset altogether. This chipset has a 1+3+4 cores configuration and includes 1x Cortex-A77 core at 2.40GHz, 3x Cortex-A77 cores at 2.19GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.84GHz. ARM Mali-G610 GPU will handle the graphics processing on the device. Although the chipset isn’t that bad, it is still inferior compared to flagship ones but rather focuses on ‘efficiency’ as its USP.

For contrast, earlier reports highlighted a Kirin 9000-series chipset on-board Nova Flip instead. Thus, we will have to wait some time to get a clear idea on the same.

The listing further details Android 12 OS under the hood paired with Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4.2 plus 12GB of RAM. Previous leaks revealed Nova Flip to sport a 6.94” 120Hz LTPO OLED panel as its inner display — the largest on a flip phone. There’s a 2.14” 60Hz outer display as well that will see functionalities such as calls, notifications, selfies, etc.

Nova Flip will arrive in four colorways to choose from — New Green, Zero White, Starry Black, and Sakura Pink. Previous leaks mentioned dimensions as well according to which, Nova Flip stands at 6.88mm and 6.9mm in thickness when unfolded for leather and glass variant, respectively, When folded, the device is 15.08mm and 15.12mm in thickness for the respective back panels.
