In July this year, we heard about a triple-foldable smartphone from Huawei’s foundry. It seems like the phone is already in production as we got a Huawei triple-foldable smartphone in the wild.
It was no one but Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, holding the phone in the wild as pictured by tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS). According to DCS, the phone was spotted in the wild when Richard Yu was holding it during a flight.
The image clearly shows a foldable phone with two visible creases and a large display on board that can be folded thrice. Earlier last month, we heard about such a phone in the making that will sport a 10-inch inner display hosting a punch-hole cut-out at the front.
Although earlier we were confused about the maker but since it is in the hands of Richard, it is safe to assume that the phone is nothing else but Huawei’s upcoming triple-foldable smartphone which is yet unnamed.
Huawei’s Triple-foldable Smartphone is Arriving Soon
To strengthen the rumors into reliable information, Tipster Ice Universe took on X to post about the world’s first trifold smartphone in a post made in July as well. For the unversed, Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus, among others all have foldable phones, however, the display folds right from the middle and in two halves.
With the upcoming Huawei folding phone in the works, you would get a display that folds thrice and get a triple-foldable mechanism on-board. It remains to be seen if the foldable mechanism allows using two halves or rather you can get a single screen when folded or a large screen when unfolded.

It is important to notify in case Huawei does roll out this triple-folding phone, this would make it the world’s first beating the likes of Samsung to the punch.
On the specs end, we don’t have any specifics yet although rumors have it, that the phone will pick up a Kirin 9-series chipset. Since the Huawei Mate 70 Series will debut with a delay to late 2024, this triple-folding phone could take a slot before that and launch sometime in September or October.
If true, we literally have just a few weeks before getting our hands on a triple-folding phone.
