Huawei’s first 16” laptops are here with a 3:2 aspect ratio in Europe. The laptop has some of the best specifications in the segment. It took some time for the laptop to arrive in Europe after its release in China in May. Here’s everything you need to know about the Huawei MateBook 16.

The Huawei MateBook 16 has launched although it’s availability is yet to be confirmed. About the pricing, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H mode arrives in Europe at EUR 1,100 while the Ryzen 7 5800H arrives at EUR 1,200.

Huawei MateBook 16 Specifications

Huawei MateBook 16 sports a giant 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a 2520×1680 pixel resolution with 189 ppi density. The display has a 1500:1 contrast ratio and has 300 nits of brightness with DC dimming. There’s HDR with 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut with an average deltaE of 1. There’s an anti-fingerprint coating on top of the display with hardened glass on top of it.

Huawei MateBook 16 packs in two chipsets powered by AMD. You have a Ryzen 5 5600H with 6 cores and 12 threads. The top variant is of Ryzen 7 5800H with 8 cores and 16 threads. You also get a Vega GPU with 7 CU and 8 CU (respectively). You get a dual-channel 16GB DDR4 RAM with 512GB of NVMe SSD storage on-board. It runs on Windows 10 Home and will be upgradable to Windows 11 once it is available.

The laptop has a 35W TDP with its performance mode boosting it to 54W. Moving on, Huawei has integrated two shark fin cooling fans with a 75mm diameter clubbed with two thick heat pipes, a copper alloy heat sink, and all that works by dissipating heat faster and efficiently.

MateBook 16 sports an 84Wh battery with 12.5 hours of video playback (stored locally). There’s a 135W fast charger in the retail box capable of giving you a backup of 3.5 hours in just 15 minutes of charging.

When it comes to ports, you get two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports on the right; an HDMI, headphone jack, and two full-function USB-C ports on the left. There’s an AI noise cancellation feature that eliminates most of the ambient noise great for calls.

Huawei MateBook 16 has been sandblasted on the exterior with a Space Grey color that looks sweet. The weight is 1.99 kgs and the laptop is just 17.8 mm thick. It has a list of features is huge as it includes dual front-facing cameras, 2W stereo speaker setup, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 6 ax, a fingerprint scanner mounted on top of the power button, and so on. There’s a PC-Smartphone Collaboration feature as well that lets you stream your phone on the laptop with up to three phones apps simultaneously.
