- iQOO 15 is launching soon as per the latest teaser spotted on iQOO's Weibo page.
- It will be among the first to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite2 SoC once the chipset launched on September 23.
- iQOO has skipped the '14' moniker and thus, we are seeing iQOO 15 launched directly after iQOO 13.
Legends are true. It’s not iQOO 14 but rather, iQOO 15 is launching soon as the smartphone maker officially confirmed it on Chinese networking site Weibo. This marks yet another event where a Chinese maker has skipped the number ‘4’ (14, in this case) as it is considered a bad omen in the home country.
iQOO 15 is coming late September with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC
The iQOO 15 teaser doesn’t give much information; however, it does confirm the name of the device, namely the iQOO 15. It is speculated to arrive in late September, the first of phones with a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC on board. For context, albeit iQOO 13 was announced last year in October with Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, it was only in November when the phone actually arrived, where it had competition from the likes of OnePlus, Xiaomi, Nubia, to name a few.
Coming to iQOO 15, the phone is slated to arrive in the initial few days after the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC officially arrives on September 23. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone will share the time slot with Honor Magic8 series, Xiaomi 16 series, and Realme GT8 Pro, to name a few. In fact, all of these phones are speculated to arrive before October 1, which gives them a little window post chipset launch.
iQOO 15 specs (expected)
We don’t have a confirmed list of iQOO 15 specs yet; however, we have compiled the speculations from various sources, painting a picture of what the upcoming flagship will bring to the table.
iQOO 15 will bring a 6.85” 2K LTPO OLED panel and will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. There’s a triple 50MP rear cam with a 3x periscope lens, over 7,000mAh battery (we did a series on the list of phones with 7,000mAh battery as well). It will be a gaming-focused flagship phone and thus, there’s a built-in cooling fan, gaming triggers, and wireless charging on the go.
