Indian smartphone and electronics manufacturer Lava Mobiles has launched its latest budget wireless audio product, the Lava Probuds N21. The neckband, which retails for ₹999, is intended for customers looking for a feature-rich yet reasonably priced everyday accessory.
Lava Probuds N21: A neckband that just gets the job done
Comfort and fit
The first thing I noticed is the material. It’s made using this soft silicone kind of thing, and it’s super light. It doesn’t get in your way whether you’re walking, working, or even doing some light workouts.
Controls and smart stuff
This is one thing I liked a lot. Lava Probuds N21 comes with this feature they call Dash Switch. Basically, the earbuds are magnetic. So when you clip them together, the music pauses. When you pull them apart, it plays again or answers a call. I think this is super helpful, especially if you don’t want to keep touching buttons or pulling out your phone every time.

Battery life
I’ve used a lot of neckbands and truly, battery life can be hit or miss. But this one surprised me. You get around 40 hours of playback, which honestly is more than enough for most people. Now here’s the cool part, just 10 minutes of charging gives you 12 hours of use. I didn’t expect that from a budget neckband.
Other features that matter
It’s equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, so the connection is pretty stable. I didn’t face any drops or glitches during calls or music. You can also connect to two devices at once, so I had it on both my laptop and phone, and it switched pretty smoothly.
It also comes with voice assistant support, so if you use Google Assistant or Siri, it works right out of the box.
Another thing, it’s rated IPX6, so sweat and water splashes are not a problem. I wore it during a light jog, and it held up fine.
If you’re into gaming or just hate audio lag during videos, the low latency mode (50ms) helps a lot. Not perfect, but better than usual in this price range.
Sound quality
Sound-wise, it has a 10mm dynamic driver, which means the bass is decent, not overpowered. Vocals come through clearly. Don’t expect super detailed audio or heavy thump like in high-end models, but for regular music, calls, and YouTube, it works just fine.

The best part? It costs only ₹999 INR. That’s it. For the features it has, that price feels more than fair. And you get three colors, Panther Black, Firefly Green, and Kai Orange. I personally liked the black one, looks clean and doesn’t stand out too much
Author’s remarks
I’ll be honest, the Lava Probuds N21 doesn’t try to be too flashy. It focuses on doing the basics really well, and I respect that. The battery life, the magnetic controls, and the fact that it just works without any issues, that’s what makes it worth it. If you’re on a budget or just want a daily neckband without spending a bomb, I’d say go for it.
