Imagine a phone with a 100MP sensor. Wouldn’t it be great in clicking pictures and videos? Well, of course, it will and seems like we have the first candidate for something Qualcomm made us cautioned that smartphones with 100MP sensors are incoming this year. A few days ago, Lenovo posted an image teasing its upcoming smartphone with “Hyber Video” technology. However, it is just now that we are getting a gist of what it actually means.
Lenovo launched Z5 Pro GT back in January and it is up for another round of flagship release with Lenovo Z6 Pro according to GizChina. Lenovo “Hyper Boost” technology was kind of showed up at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, however, we might be expecting it very soon with the upcoming Z6 Pro.
According to a post on Weibo from Chang Cheng who is the VP of Lenovo Group, the post states that a phone is incoming with billion pixels. The post which is in Mandarin Chinese translates to a billion pixels which in-turn means 100MP.
This gives us a gist that Lenovo is perhaps looking forward to launching its Lenovo Z6 Pro today in China with 100MP and perhaps using a 4-in-1 pixel binning technology since stuffing a billion pixels in a single sensor hasn’t been plausible yet or is it? GSMArena says that we should expect it to announce today, however, folks at GizChina brought up Lenovo’s history or pushing out teasers that might not actually materialize and thus, we will have to back up a bit.
Lenovo is expected to launch Z6 Pro today featuring up to 12GB of RAM and 7nm Snapdragon 855 processor. Based on a previous assessment posted by Qualcomm, its Snapdragon 855 supports 192MP single sensor and grabbing a 100MP sensor is a big deal at the moment.
