It hasn’t been much time since the LG G6 was launched and it is already expected to get two new variants. The Pro and Plus variants of the LG G6 are expected to go official by the end of this month, according to a report.
A South Korean news site etnews has provided the scoop without mentioning the source for the information. The report further adds that the two devices would be more or less identical to the LG G6 with a few minor changes. And yes, there won’t be a Snapdragon 835 processor on either of the two.
The LG G6 Plus will be exactly the same as the LG G6 but will feature wireless charging along with an increased internal storage of 128 GB. The pricing of the phones is also mentioned in local currency. The LG G6 Plus will sport a price of 999,000 won or $890 approx.
While the LG G6 Pro will be coming with an internal storage of 32 GB and will carry a price tag of 790,000 won or $700 approx. To compare, the LG G6 is priced at 899,800 won or $800 approximately. Which translates to around Rs. 51,550 Only the internal storage of the G6 Pro is going to differ from the original G6 and rest everything will remain to be the same.
With these two devices included, the entire LG G6 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor instead of the latest Snapdragon 835. The reason for this was speculated to be Samsung, that might have reserved the entire produce of the latest chip for its Galaxy S8 series, leaving LG with no other option and go with the second-best option. This might also be the reason for the massive discount being offered on LG G6 just months after its launch in India.
Etnews mentions that the devices will hit the market by the end of June in South Korea with three local carriers and global rollout will follow soon. The report further states that LG will be launching the multiple phones under the V series while the budget phones will be launched under the X series.
