LG has come up with its latest flagship smartphone, the LG V60 ThinQ 5G. The phone is the successor to the V50s ThinQ launched last year and comes with pretty solid specifications. The long awkward name is not the only thing the phone retains from its predecessor, but LG is also providing the dual-screen addon. The screen might come in handy for some people, especially for multitasking, but, is useless most of the time.
The phone comes with a big 6.8-inch FHD+ P-OLED display with an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. It has a waterdrop notch on the top, which houses a 10MP selfie camera. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass 5. LG V60 ThinQ is powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform with an integrated Qualcomm X55 modem. The phone supports 5G and 6GHz WiFi for faster internet speeds.
The G60 ThinQ features a dual-camera setup accompanied by a third ToF sensor. The 64 MP primary camera has a large 1/1.7-inch sensor and an f/1.8 aperture. In lowlight scenarios, the camera supports 4 in 1 pixel binning which captures a 16 MP image with better details and lesser noise. The secondary 13MP wide-angle sensor captures images with a 117-degree field of view. The phone can record videos in 8K resolution, and HDR10+ recording can also be enabled through the manual mode in the camera app.
The phone gets its beef from a 5,000 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ and wireless charging support. Thanks to the big battery, using two 6.8-inch screens won’t be a problem on this phone. It also comes with IP68 certification against water and dust, and MIL-STD 810G rating. The phone will be available in two variants, with 128GB and 256GB internal storage, and, 8GB RAM. The storage can be expanded up to 2TB by using a micro SD card. LG has not revealed the price of the phone yet, but we expect it to start under $1000.
