LG is bringing in Google Assistant support to more ThinQ TVs by the end of this year. According to the press release, LG will market ThinQ TVs with Google Assistant in seven markets that are Spain, U.K. South Korea, Germany, France, Canada, and Australia where it will support up to five languages that are English, German, Spanish, Korean, and French presumably.

As per the South Korean tech giant LG, all the 2018 TVs with Al ThinQ will get the upgrade by the fourth quarter of this year where English speaking markets have already received the upgrade in the second quarter of this year. The plan to upgrade TVs with Google Assistant is as per LG’s global strategy to expand its horizons and provide voice recognition solutions to LG ThinQ TV users.

Further, all the devices with LG’s webOS-based AI ThinQ TVs will get the Google Assistant built-in which means, the user could do a number of tasks using his/her voice as a command. For instance, the user can ask for weather forecast or a movie timing, or a nearby restaurant and the Google Assistant will automatically search for it. Further, the users can integrate it with smart devices as it will support more than 5,000 smart devices from various brands ranging from thermostats, vacuum cleaner, speakers, air purifiers, smart lighting solutions and more by connecting it with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It will also showcase photos from the Google Photos when asked.

Since LG ThinQ TV users can already try to feature if they live in countries such as Canada, Australia, U.K. and the United States, it wouldn’t be too long for other markets to receive the upgrade soon. The Google Assistant works flawlessly across various platforms and since the LG TVs have deep learning technology, it wouldn’t take the system time to analyze usage pattern and other data and provide content and updates accordingly. LG has invited visitors to its booth in Hall 18 at the IFA that will be held in Messe, Berlin where they could check out LG’s AI enabled ThinQ TVs with pre-installed Google Assistant.
