Xiaomi, the privately owned Chinese mobile handset line has been grabbing headlines, with a new leak online! While the company is literally known as the ‘Apple’ of China, it only entered the Indian market on July 15th, 2014, with an exclusive sales tie-up with Flipkart for smartphone Mi 3.
However, according to a recent report there have been plenty of details about the upcoming flagship phone. However, according to the Weibo (mini-blogging services in China) leaker, KJuma the company already has a ‘SUPERSIZED’ Mi5 Plus in the works! KJuma also offers a list of hardware specifications for both rumoured handsets.
The standard Mi5 will allegedly have a 5.2-inch Quad HD display and 2.5 Gorilla Glass. It is also expected to have a Snapdragon 810 processor, a 16-megapixel-rear camera, a 13-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3,000mAh (milliampere-hour) battery.
This device will run Android 5.1 Lollipop; although it is heavily modified by Xiaomi’s own MiUI software. It is expected to cost a whopping 2399-Yuan (roughly $386).
On the other hand, the Mi5 Plus will kick everything that the Mi5 has up a notch. Mi5 Plus is expected to have a 5.7-inch display with the same Quad HD resolution, a Snapdragon 820 chip, a 3500mAh (milliampere-hour) battery, a 23-megapixel-rear camera and a 12-megapixel shooter up front.
However, there has been no mention of the price; although it can be predicted that it may cost at least a little bit more than the standard Xiaomi Mi5.
While prior reports had claimed that the new device may include a fingerprint reader (of some type); recent reports make no such mention. At the same time, it cannot be entirely ruled out. This feature may also be served for the more expensive Mi5 Plus.
Although there is no concrete plans to sell the handsets in the US, we yet are eagerly awaiting to see what Xiaomi’s flagship mobile handset line (Xiami Mi) has decided!
