Meizu Note 9 goes official, all set for a March release in China

Following up on the September 2018 release of the Meizu X9, Meizu has now unveiled the Meizu Note 9. The most notable feature about the Meizu Note 9 is the 48MP dual camera. The first waterdrop-style notched IPS LCD display smartphone by the company, the Meizu Note 9 is powered by Snapdragon 675 and also has a big battery with fast charging enabled. Supporting 18w mCharge rapid charge, the Meizu Note 9 has an 18w charger available in the box at the time of purchase.

With a glass and metal combined chassis, the dimensions of the Meizu Note 9 are 153.11 x 74.34 X 8.65 mm. The screen-to-body ration offered by the Meizu Note 9 is 89.23 percent. The enticing beginning price of CNY 1,398 Yuan or USD 208 is another attraction of the device.

Featuring a 6.2 inch (15.75) display along with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080×2244 pixels, the Meizu Note 9 runs on Android v9.0 (Pie) which is customized with Flyme 7.2 UI and comes pre-installed on the phone. In addition to an Octa Core processor, the graphical performance is enhanced by the Adreno 612 GPU. To optimize the gaming experience by the means of GPU acceleration, the Meizu Note 9 has Hyper Gaming technology. The RAM available on the Meizu Note 9 will either be 4GB or 6GB, with storage either 64GB or 128GB. As there is no microSD slot available on the phone, that is all the storage that you can get on the device.

The Meizu Note 9 is aesthetically quite appealing, being 8.6 mm slim and weighing 169.7 grams, and will be available in three variants of Black, White and Sparkling Blue. Despite containing a powerful 4,000mAh, the Meizu Note 9 is lightweight and comparatively much lighter than other phones, such as Redmi Note 7 Pro, which have a similar-sized battery.

The Meizu Note 9 boasts of a powerful 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GMI sensor primary camera with a secondary depth-sensor of 5MP that make up the dual cameras at the back, along with a 20MP selfie camera at the front. The Meizu Note 9 supports night scene photography and has features such as tripe mode as well as handheld night scene mode. The other features of the Meizu Note 9 include – dual SIM support, rear-mounted fingerprint reader, 4G VOLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack, face recognition 3.0 that helps in unlocking the phone in particularly dim conditions, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.

 

Price and Release Date

The prices for the different variants of the Meizu Note 9 are expected to be –

  • 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage – CNY 1,398 or USD 208
  • 6GB RAM + 64GB storage – CNY 1,598 or USD238
  • 4GB RAM + 128 GB storage – CNY 1,598 or USD 238

The official sales of the Meizu Note 9 are scheduled to commence in China on March 11, 2019.
