Microsoft just upgraded its Surface Pro lineup with the latest business-centric Surface Pro 7 Plus that brings too many internal changes. The Surface Pro 7 Plus packs in a removable SSD, LTE connectivity, Intel’s 11th Gen processors, and a bigger battery that would sweep the floor off your feet.
According to the pricing, Microsoft is offering Surface Pro 7 Plus from Intel Core i3 (1115G4) to Intel Core i7 (1165G7) with a pricing of $899 for the base Core i3 model with 128GB of internal and 8GB of RAM. The top-tier Core i7 variant is available at a price tag of 2,799 with up to 1TB of SSD storage and up to 32GB of RAM. However, it is the mid-Core i5 (1135G7) that has optional LTE at $1,149.
Talking about the form factor and design, the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Plus hasn’t made a lot of cosmetic changes but the internals has been overhauled. The improved 50.4Wh battery as opposed to 46.5Wh previously now allows Surface Pro 7 Plus to get 15 hours of battery which is still 4.5 hours higher than the non-Plus variant. The improved 11th Gen chipsets are also responsible for the improved battery life.
Apart from that, the Surface Pro 7 Plus sports a 12.3-inch PixelSense Display with a 2736 x 1824 pixels resolution. It has a USB-A port, 3.5mm headphone jack, a Surface Connect port, and a single USB-C port. If you go for the Wi-Fi only model, you also get a MicroSDXC card reader with it while the LTE variants have a lot for nano-SIM.
Proceeding further, Microsoft overhauled the Thermal Design Model (TDM) to accumulate a larger battery size and the SSD onboard Surface Pro 7 Plus. There’s a removable SSD on-board that allows businesses to swap it whenever needed. However, the device is not available for consumers and it is only available for businesses. It doesn’t have a slimmer bezel as Microsoft maintained that it would want to bank on businesses that have standardized the Surface Pro 7.
Talking about the availability, the Surface Pro 7 Plus is available in the U.S. starting on January 15th while businesses in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and several European countries will get the device too.
