After a series of leaks consisting vital information and photos on Motorola’s upcoming successor P40, CompareRaja has published an exclusive report on the low-end Moto P40 Play that will be launched in China as its predecessor P30 Play. This report shows tonnes of CAD-rendered images showcasing the upcoming Moto P40 Play that will go by the moniker ‘One Power 2’ if indeed launched in the global market apart from China.
A glimpse at the device shows that it has a single Pixel-like snapper at the back with another sensor what we assume is a depth sensor arranged in a different type i.e. a single 13MP rear snapper lens is different from its depth sensor and a flash LED and a Moto logo at the back.
However, the front is rather interesting since the device will get a water-drop shaped notch with a not-so-full-screen friendly display as the chin as seen in the renders is weirdly thick while the bezels on left and right are slightly bulkier as well but hey, its a low-end phone so these are just a few compromises people will have to make for the upcoming P40 series. Anyhow, there is a front snapper within the notch, however, we are yet to get any intel on its sensor size so we’ll have to wait until any confirmation comes through.
Moving further, the report also hints that the device will measure 147.7 x 71.5 x 9.2 mm and there will be a slight bump of 0.2mm around the camera ring which will make it 9.4mm. Anyhow, the display size is 5.6” probably LCD IPS display.
The predecessor P30 Play had a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB/64GB storage configuration. We are hoping for a slight bump in the processor’s department such as Snapdragon 655 or SDM710 or so but there is no official confirmation regarding the same yet.
The device has a micro USB port with what appears to be a headphone jack on the top. It will be powered by Android Pie most probably while the international model will be signed up under Android One program which means it will definitely get an Android Pie plus Android Q once Google releases it later this year and Motorola processes it for Moto One Power 2 aka P40 Play for global markets.
