Motorola redesigned its entire high-end smartphone lineup last year with the introduction of the new Z family that reimagined modular phones. The second iteration of the lineup is being launched this year, mid-range Moto Z2 Play already launched earlier this year. The higher-end phones from the company are expected to be launched soon and a bunch of leaks about the Moto Z2 Force are already making rounds on the internet.
Promo images of the Moto Z2 Force had leaked quite recently and they showed the phone from all its sides. The newly leaked images of the phone are the first hands-on shots and they confirm all the observations we did during the last leak, including the dual cameras on the back and the lack of a headphone jack.
The images come straight from China and were first seen on Baidu. The overall design is very similar to that of the Moto Z2 Play from the front as well as from the back. The position of the front camera and the front LED flash are interchanged, though. Also, the Moto logo sits on the top in Moto Z2 Play, while it is below the display in the Moto Z2 Force. The earpiece, fingerprint scanner, and other details on the front remain to be the same.
Coming to the back of the phone, the lining on the side is also akin to the Z2 Play, along with the 16-pin connector and circular camera housing. But there something more to the camera housing, it now has two cameras instead of one. This is a trend that every smartphone maker is going with and Moto is also expected to bring dual cameras not only to its flagship lineup but also to the mid-range smartphones.
The Moto Z2 Force is extremely slim at 6mm and as you would expect, this has also affected the battery capacity of the phone. The recent reports have suggested that the Z2 Force will come with a smaller battery of 2730mAh, while the last year’s Moto Z Force came with a 3500mAh one. Moreover, the headphone jack will also be absent from the phone this year as well.
You can expect the phone to come with top of the line specifications like a 5.5-inch QHD ShatterShield display, Snapdragon 835, 4GB/6GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and Android 7.1.1 out of the box. Also, the phone will be compatible with all the Moto Mods launched last year and the ones that will be launched in the future.
