Motorola is strengthening its models’ launch portfolio this year and especially its mid-range G-series is getting new models on the go. Motorola ignited the G-series lineup adding two new smartphones i.e. Moto G10 and G30 with long battery life and an exceptional camera experience on-board. As one would guess, the G30 obviously does brings some upgrades to the table when compared to Moto G10. Here’s everything that Motorola declared during the launch.
Motorola Moto G30
The powerful amongst the two, Motorola Moto G30 brings on-board a giant 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The device has a waterdrop-shaped notch and what really stands out is that the display supports a 90Hz refresh rate which is 50 percent more powerful than the regular 60Hz refresh rate.
The waterdrop-shaped notch that I mentioned above sports a 13MP camera setup. The rear camera setup is a quad-camera rig housed in a rectangular camera bump. The primary camera here is a 64MP sensor with Quad Pixel tech that uses 4-in-1 pixel binning technology to bring on-board a massive 1.4micrometer pixel size with shots coming at 16MP resolution. There’s also an active Night Vision mode for nighttime photography.
Moving on, we have an 8MP ultrawide snapper which is capable of shooting wide photos at 118-degrees. Next up, there are two usual 2MP dedicated snappers for macro and depth-related shots. The Motorola Moto G30 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC clubbed with Adreno 610 GPU. Now for those who don’t know, Snapdragon 662 is underpowered and Motorola could have gone for something more powerful with the G30. The device runs on Android 11 backed with Motorola features and customizations.
The device is paired with 128GB ROM and 4/6GB RAM options. You can either go for a single SIM or a dual-SIM option although the former has a dedicated microSD card slot while the latter has a hybrid version.
The device gets its power from a massive 5,000 mAh battery under the hood which according to Motorola, lasts over 2 days although it is based on the calculations done in a controlled environment. It is tagged along with a 20W fast charging tech which is a relief although you would end up putting between 1.5 to 2 hours charging up the battery. Talking about the pricing, the device is available at €180 and it will be available for sale by the end of this month.
Motorola Moto G10
As said, Motorola Moto G30 is a beefed-up version of G10 and they both share many aspects. The Moto G10 sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD 720p+ display with a regular 60Hz refresh rate. The device comes with a budget Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset which is yet another less impressive chipset. Talking about the memory configuration, the device comes with 4+64GB and 4+128GB variants as well. There’s a memory card slot as well but it is hybrid.
Talking about the camera, the device does bring a few specifics down when compared to G30. The G10 sports a quad-camera setup that looks exactly like the G30 but there’s a 48MP primary sensor on-board. It still uses Quad Pixel tech for 12MP shots with 1.6micrometer pixel size. There’s an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth and macro sensor on-board. The front also brings a significant drop from a 13MP sensor to an 8MP sensor.
The device carries a price tag of €150 and will be available in Europe by the end of February 2021 just like the G30.
Anyways, both the models are water repellent and are awarded IP52 water and dust protection which is a major plus if not less. Both the devices have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and Cat. 4 4G, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack onboard.
