motorola has expanded its foldable portfolio with the official unveiling of the motorola razr fold at CES 2026, with a notable design change for the long-running razr brand. The new razr fold uses a book-style folding design, made for everyday smartphone convenience with the productivity perks of a larger screen.
motorola razr fold introduces dual-screen
According to motorola’s announcement at CES, the razr fold is designed around a dual-screen experience that allows users to switch seamlessly between compact daily use and wide multitasking.
When closed, the razr fold features a 6.56-inch external display with a traditional smartphone aspect ratio. motorola says this design allows users to handle calls, messages, navigation, and app interactions without unfolding the device, which makes it practical for one-handed, on-the-go use.

Opening the device reveals an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO foldable display, one of the largest screens ever included in a razr-branded phone. The LTPO technology enables adaptive refresh rates for improved power efficiency, while the large canvas is intended for multitasking, content consumption, and creative workflows. motorola said the foldable screen is built with a thin profile to stay comfortable even with the larger size.
Software and AI features
motorola paired the new hardware with software tuned for the larger screen. The interface offers adaptive layouts that shift automatically based on how the phone is being used.
The razr fold also supports the moto pen ultra stylus, expanding its appeal for note-taking and creative tasks. On-device AI features such as “Catch me up” and “Next Move” are built in to summarize notifications, surface missed information, and suggest contextual actions.
Camera system with Dolby Vision
Photography and video recording are central to the razr fold’s positioning as a premium device. motorola confirmed a triple rear camera system, with each sensor rated at 50MP:
- A Sony LYTIA main sensor for primary photography
- A 50MP ultra-wide camera with macro capabilities
- A 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom
For front-facing use, the phone includes a 32MP camera on the outer display and a 20MP camera on the inner screen, supporting video calls and selfies in both folded and unfolded modes.
Furthermore, video recording supports Dolby Vision, along with advanced stabilization features, matching the phone with users who want movie-like mobile video and better dynamic range.
Design and color options
motorola describes the razr fold as combining pocketable perfection with big-screen brilliance, targeting professionals and power users who want tablet-like functionality without sacrificing portability.
The device will be available in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White.
