Netflix is starting to block VPN-using customers.

Almost every person using that streaming service knows this problem. A movie or the next season of a series you like is released, people on the web talk about watching it, so, full of anticipation, you open Netflix, but just can’t find it. The content is not available in your region. What most people do now, is accessing their streaming service using a VPN, faking their location. But this will have to come to an end soon, Netflix has announced to block services like these.

A rather popular VPN service, called uFlix, which manipulates the user’s location by configuring DNS settings and IP address, had already had problems with notes like this one:

You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy, Please turn off any of these services and try again.

Although only few users has this issue, the number is growing. uFlix’ managing director, Peter Dujan stated, the blocking was not aggressive, and believes that Netflix is just testing blocking methods on their customers. Although VPN is not as necessary anymore, due to Netflix opening their services to so many counties lately, but it still can be useful.
