Nokia was absent from the smartphone scene for a few years, but thanks to HMD Global, the iconic brand is back with a bang. Nokia is trying to get back into the market with the help of its excellent smartphone lineup along with nostalgia.
Their current set of smartphones are targeted at the budget audience, but the company is expected to launch a bunch of higher-priced smartphones soon. We would be able to see a flagship phone coming out of Nokia’s factories, and we have already got some information about the phone.
In the past, there have been a lot of reports talking about the device, but none gave any substantial information like the latest one. A report by MyDrivers says that the Nokia flagship phone will have a metal-clad body, and that’s about it what the report has to say about its build.
Being a 2017 flagship, the phone is expected to come powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, bringing it on par with the Samsung Galaxy S8. Besides this, the phone is also said to come in two screen sizes, and the RAM capacity will also vary with 4GB most probably on the smaller one and 6GB on the larger one.
Talking about the camera, the Nokia flagship smartphone will house a 23MP camera, and there are high chances that it would be a dual camera setup, which is slowly becoming a norm in high-end smartphones. Interestingly, the camera sensors won’t be Carl Zeiss, according to the report.
The phone hasn’t been named name yet, and it would have been evident by now as we have been referring to it as ‘Nokia flagship phone’ throughout this piece. It is expected to launch in June this year, and we would hopefully get to know its name before that.
For the price, the smaller variant will have a price tag of $580 (₹ 37,200 approx.), while the larger one is expected to be priced at $650 (₹ 41,600 approx.).
One of the most prominent features in Nokia phones has been their camera, and the company has used Carl Zeiss tech many times in their high-end Symbian phones. Though not their flagship, but the upcoming Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 mid-range smartphones are expected to come with a Carl Zeiss camera lens. The two devices would sport Snapdragon 660, which is also yet to be announced.
