Nokia 5.4 Launched Globally with Snapdragon 662 at €189

HMD Global’s Nokia has been very consistent with its smartphone’s updates as well as with smartphones. Yes, it looks like some kind of sarcasm, but it is actually the truth. We all know that Nokia has been pushing regular updates to each of its smartphones. And factually, Nokia is one of the only brands with its all smartphones updated to the latest Android 11 and now trying for Android 11. Similarly, Nokia is also launching smartphones in sequences and quite frequently. HMD Global launched Nokia 5.4 globally with quite a few interesting features like Snapdragon 662 SoC in a reasonable price tag of €189.

Design-wise, the phone is sort of almost like the Nokia 5.3, a minimum of from the rear. there’s a circular camera setup that has the Quad cameras in it, but while the Nokia 5.3 had the LED flash inside the camera module, it’s placed outside of it just in case of the 5.4. The fingerprint scanner’s placement remains unchanged. a bit like the Nokia 5.3, the 5.4 features a Google Assistant button on the left side. the rear panel features a similar textured finish that provided a far better grip also reduces the fingerprints.

For the base 4 GB + 64 GB variant, HMD Global has set the price of €189, and the price of the 6 GB and 64 GB variant is still unknown to us. Nokia 5.4 is available in two different colors; the Polar Night and the Dusk The device will be coming to various markets for normal consumers later this month.

Nokia 5.4 has a 6.39 HD+ punch-hole display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9down from the 6.55-inch display on the Nokia 5.3. There’s a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner for the selfie camera. The phone will run on Android 10 out of the box and can be Android 11 ready. The Finnish smartphone company also promises two years of OS update and three years of monthly security updates.

Under the hood, the Nokia 5.4 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with RAM up to 6 GB and 64 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 512 GB using an external sd card. The Snapdragon 662 SoC is an octa-core (4×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver) SoC coupled with Adreno 610 GPU for better performance.

In the camera department, the Nokia 5.4 houses a quad-camera setup at the rear and a single camera setup at the front. The rear setup includes a primary 48-megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture, a secondary 5-megapixel ultrawide sensor, a tertiary 2-megapixel macro, and finally a 2-megapixel depth sensor. And in the front, there’s a 16-megapixel camera for selfies. Nokia also mentions ZEISS optics on its official product page, but there’s no ZEISS branding on the camera module itself.

The smartphone is fueled with a 4,000mAh battery that can be charged using the standard 10W charger in the box. It includes all the necessary ports and sensors like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.20, USB Type-C, Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, etc.
