OnePlus 3 New leaks and a press render arrive through @evleaks
After being announced more than 3 months down the lane, and after being leaked a couple of times, the OnePlus 3 has been finally uncovered in a press render, courtesy of Evan Blass. Though some photographs of the phone were leaked, this is the first time the phone is leaked revealing its full shape. The phone is set to be launched next month.
Design
The phone has a full metal body. The sandstone back we saw in the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 is gone and is replaced by a full metal flat back. The two horizontal lines in the back look like those in the HTC 10. The dual LED flash in the OnePlus 2 is replaced by a single LED one. The phone looks to be inspired from the design of HTC and Huawei phones.
What is same as OnePlus 2?
Though the phone looks a lot different than the last year’s flagship, some elements are still the same. The front facing fingerprint sensor is back; along with the USB type C port .The speakers at the base of the phone are also present. The notification slider, a much loved component in the 2 and X is back, but the placement has changed .The slider now sits above the volume keys, on the right side of the screen.
What are the changes?
According to Evan Blass the OnePlus 3 will be an upgrade from OnePlus 2 in terms of display, with the former now sporting an AMOLED screen .This means a step up from IPS LCD display available in both the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. The increases in camera bulge and the size of the lens indicates an upgrade in the camera’s sensor. In terms of processor the phone is expected to boast the flagship processor from QUALCOMM, the Snapdragon 820 mated to 4 gigabytes of DDR4 ram. The phone is expected to have a smaller battery of 3000mAh as compared to 3100 mAh in OnePlus One and 3300 mAh in OnePlus Two.
What to expect?
The phone looks similar to the leaks which appeared earlier that showed the phone in a stealthy black color. Since the leaks appeared online, the company’s forum is going crazy, with some users loving the design and some of them hating it. Though the photos appear to be that of the final product, it may also be the company’s attempt to control the damage, by releasing fake images of the phone. The phone is about to launch soon, and many believe that the company will get rid of the much criticized invite system.
