OnePlus Germany just tweeted out that the OnePlus 5T is getting the Android Oreo open beta as the new OxygenOS update is here, ready to bring Oreo, along with some other nifty features.
OnePlus 5T is basically almost the same as OnePlus 5, with the new design trends like 18:9 display and near bezel-less design. But the OnePlus 5T still came with Nougat, though the brand promised that the it would get Android Oreo by the end of the year. It is not still sure whether the update will roll out globally or not as only OnePlus Germany announced the Android Oreo Open Beta build for the device.

While the tweet claims that the Open Beta program is starting now, no such updates have been thrown to users on the OnePlus Forums, also none of the regional OnePlus social media accounts have talked about the update yet. In fact, the OnePlus Germany’s official Twitter handle has removed the tweet that suggested the arrival of OnePlus 5T Android Oreo Open Beta.
OnePlus has been keeping its promise for all devices and just recently OnePlus announced the Android Oreo for OnePlus 5T, which will bring Android Oreo features and some extra features added to OxygenOS. However, users can still believe that they would be getting the Android Oreo Open Beta soon as OnePlus had already promised to bring it to OnePlus 5T.
Just three days ago, the OnePlus 5 got the Android Oreo Beta update. The update brought some features and improvements like Parallel Apps, new design for Quick Settings and Lift up display, Optimizations for Wi-Fi and Battery Saver, and the Updated Android security patch for December. Also, OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei had announced that OnePlus 5 will also get the Face Unlock feature, just like the OnePlus 5T.
Face Unlock is probably the most talked feature OnePlus 5T has got as it is blazing fast and quite accurate. While brands like Apple are investing a lot in mapping a 3D model of the face to securely store it and let users unlock the phone, the similar kind of experience with lower requirements and at this kind of price tag is a blessing for OnePlus 5 and 5T users for sure. OnePlus may get even a step ahead, as recent leaks suggest that the OnePlus 6 will have an in-display fingerprint scanner.
