OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro have been receiving a tonne of Android 11-powered OxygenOS 11 builds for a few months now. Unfortunately, the OnePlus 7 and 7T series had to wait quite a lot of time until its Chinese variants got the upgrade. Cut to now, OnePus has finally released the first Open Beta update on the OnePlus 7 and 7T series that users can download and flash to the latest build right away.

According to the announcement made on the OnePlus community, the first public beta (Open Beta 1) is now available for OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro. This brings features such as a fresh UI visual design, updated camera UI and functions, HEVC codec has been added. Other features include Dark Mode that can be turned on automatically or users can set up a custom time range. OnePlus has also added a weather widget with an animation effect among others.

Note that the update comes with a caveat. The OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 that is now being seeded comes with a few known issues such as instability and increased power consumption. Apart from that, the Gallery app has been reported to load slower than usual and thus, some pictures might not be displayed in the Gallery app as well. Other issues include lag in brightness adjustment as well as issues connecting to Bluetooth devices such as speakers and earphones among others.

For those who want to upgrade to the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 build, you need a non-carrier variant and at least 3GB of storage available. You must have a battery life of 30 percent on the list although I would recommend charging up the battery at least to half of its capacity. Connecting to Wi-Fi would mean you can download the firmware far quicker than on mobile data. It is an OBT build and thus, it is meant to have a few issues that need to be ironed out in future updates. You can also roll back to the Android 10 build in case the Android 11 build isn’t satisfying at the moment.

Here are the respective download links for the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 Open Beta for the respective non-Chinese OnePlus smartphones that you can download and flash on your device.
