Sanam S, a Administrator from Oneplus, posted the fix for all the touchscreen problems on the forum. The fix includes the latest firmware from synaptics, which caused battery drain a little while ago. But, it seems like they’ve fixed the battery drain issue that came with the firmware. And so, they released a new build of OxygenOS today with the touchscreen fix baked in. But, it doesn’t come as a OTA update, but as a package from the CS which can be installed through Fastboot when you’ve a unlock bootloader.

Here is all which Sanam S wrote:

Hello Everyone,

As we all know that there are some Ghost Touch and Swipe issues with OnePlus One and as promised by @Carl that we will be releasing a fix for this issue. So here we are with a fix for Ghost Touch and Ghost Swipe issue. Please note that this fix will install Oxygen OS on your phone and this fix is currently working only with Oxygen OS. Build Date May 27 2015.

This may fix other touch screen issues as well therefore I would suggest you all to try this new Build.

Note —

  1. Please backup your device data as the phone will be formatted completely.
  2. Complete Wipe is mandatory for the fix to work properly.
  3. This will only work for Windows Machine. For Mac and Linux users, please contact us through the ticket and we will help in flashing your device. :)
  4. BootLoader will remain unlocked after this Fix.

Steps :-

  1. Please Download the Fix and extract it on your Desktop.
  2. Power Off your ONE and make sure that USB cable is not connected.
  3. Now press and Hold Volume UP and Power Button and your device will enter into Fastboot Mode.
  4. Once in Fastboot mode, Please connect your device to your computer, usually the drivers will be loaded automatically. If not then please install the drivers manually. (Follow the link below)
  5. Now open “ONEPLUS ONE – 0.bat”, you will see a black screen with some numbers on it, that means that the device is connected and drivers are loaded successfully., if not then please install the drivers manually.
  6. Now open “ONEPLUS ONE – 1.bat”, If your device restarts then repeat the steps 2,3,4,5 and 6. However if your device doesn’t reboot then please go to Step 7.
  7. Now open “ONEPLUS ONE – 2 – 16GB.bat” or “ONEPLUS ONE – 2 – 64GB.bat” depending upon your device.
