It has been two months since OnePlus launched the OnePlus Nord 2, the successor to OnePlus Nord. There have been several issues regarding the phone bursting into flames. The latest in the series is from a Twitter user Gaurav Gulati who posted images of his OnePlus Nord 2 unit engulfed in fire.
Gulati is an advocate by profession. He posted the photos showing his Nord 2 burst into flames in his black-colored lawyer role. According to the user, he felt that something’s heating up inside the robe and quickly saw smoke coming out of the phone only to see it bursting and exploding in an air-conditioned court chamber.
After Gulati posted the photos on Twitter with the statement that he will be firing an FIR against OnePlus India and Amazon India, the company did respond for the same.
The advocate has already filed an FIR and he is currently working on an injunction to inhibit the sale of OnePlus Nord 2 units. He further went on to say that he suffered trauma and some injuries around the stomach.
OnePlus has posted a statement on the internet stating that a visit to the disclosed location was conducted to inspect the unit in talks. However, Gulati denied allowing OnePlus to diagnose the device to verify its legitimacy. The Chinese smartphone maker has said that without a proper diagnosis, they won’t be able to verify the claim as well as resolve the compensation raised by the individual.
This is the third time a OnePlus Nord 2 unit has burst into flames in India. Note that there is still a majority of Nord 2 users who haven’t reported such an incident at the time of writing this.
