OnePlus caters updates to its flagship smartphone lineup a lot quicker than any other brand except Google’s Pixel series. After deep integration to Google Duo on OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T pushed via an update two weeks ago, OnePlus is rolling out the said updates for 2017 OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T too.
The OxygenOS 9.0.4 update brings a number of functionalities including deep integration to Google Duo that allows the users to call via Google Duo simply using a tap against their contact or dial pad, call logs, and even SMS app. OnePlus pushed updated Android security patch to 2019.1 on both OP5 and OP5T as well along with enhanced stability for further OTA upgrades and network stability upgrades. OnePlus has also worked on some general bugs by providing bug fixes and system optimizations that will make using 2017 released OP5 and OP5T a lot easier once the user updates to the latest OxygenOS 9.0.4.
Since OnePlus has already pushed out the update via OTA, you must get a notification for the same in some time. You can check out if you have received any updates or not simply by proceeding to Settings >> System >> System Updates >> Check for Updates.
Chinese flagship smartphone maker OnePlus rolled out its tailor-made Android Pie 9.0 bundled with the skin of OxygenOS 9.0 just a week after it was officially released in August 2018. A few weeks later, the update was rolled out for 2017 released OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T as well and in fact, OnePlus is also working on updating OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T (2016) to the latest Android Pie 9.0 as well.
