OnePlus TV, that’s the name of the smart TV that Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is bringing in the market and of course, India will be the first to witness it as OnePlus has confirmed that it will be launching OnePlus TV on September 26 at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi, India.

Apart from a closeup look and a few details leaked or released by OnePlus founder Pete Lau, we didn’t know much about how it looks but thanks to an exclusive leak by PC Tablet, we now have a first look at the OnePlus TV slated to release next week.

About the OnePlus TV design, the 55” QLED OnePlus TV looks flamboyant with its tiny bezels around the top, left and right edge while the chin at the bottom is a bit large to accommodate the full-fledged OnePlus logo. The OnePlus TV has an arc-shaped silver-colored stand with a thick frame to support its weight while you enjoy watching HD and even 4K movies without any hassle.

Speaking about the specifications, OnePlus has confirmed that OnePlus TV will have a 55” QLED display that will bear a 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. Although we earlier reported that there are a few screen sizes available with OnePlus TV starting from 45” to 75”, OnePlus hasn’t really confirmed about it at least for the Indian launch on September 26 although it might showcase more variants at the October 10 global launch event.

OnePlus TV will have a 100Hz refresh rate along with 90 local dimming zones and will have an HDR10 supported display with Dolby Digital and Dolby Vision. A Gamma Color Magic processor will produce the utmost-quality images with wider color gamut at all time.

According to confirmed specifications, OnePlus TV will run on MediaTek MT5670 chipset paired along with Mali G51 GPU and will have a 2.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage at bay. It will have eight built-in speakers capable of producing an output of 50W and since the TV supports Dolby Atmos too, it will create a fully immersive surround sound experience like no other.

OnePlus posted an image of the remote that OnePlus TV will have which clearly shows the minimalistic yet futuristic design with a OnePlus button along with Google Assistant button along with a button for Menu, Back, and finally a Home button. Finally, the aluminum built remote shows a multi-directional navigational pad which is completely out-of-the-box. It is also expected that OnePlus TV remote will accept voice command as well.

OnePlus TV will run on Android TV as per a confirmation made by the company itself after it selected the Android TV OS as the suitable operating system to support the OnePlus ecosystem. In fact, OnePlus and Google will collectively work towards offering Android major updates, security and bug fixes for three years after it is released.

Finally, we know that the OnePlus TV will support dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 and will have an RJ45 Ethernet port, 2 USB ports, and three HDMI ports along with a Type-C USB port on the remote as well. The OnePlus launch event in New Delhi, India will commence at 7:00 pm on September 26 and will be followed by the official unveiling of both OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro as well.
