OnePlus Watch 2 rumors started surfacing last month. Scheduled to launch sometime in 2024, we got our hands on the first set of renders thanks to the courtesy of tipster @OnLeaks along with a much-anticipated integration with WearOS 4.
Corroborating with previous leaks, the next-gen OnePlus Watch 2 is set to get a circular dial with metal casings, a speaker grille, two buttons on the side, and a rubber strap that you can spot in the leaked renders below. Do note that these renders were made based on prototypes during the testing phase and thus, may introduce certain differences once the finished product is available.
The OnePlus Watch 2 is speculated to feature a 1.43” AMOLED display with a 466×466 pixels resolution. It is a sureshot upgrade from the original OnePlus Watch’s 1.39”. Bid adieu to custom RTOS as the Watch 2 is planning to host the much-acclaimed Wear OS 4 as per tipster Max Jambor. For the unversed, the original OnePlus Watch was tagged as a ‘glorified fitness tracker’ possibly due to its RTOS system. With the decision to introduce WearOS, the Watch 2 will make a significant difference to the scenario with more features, better customizability, and longer battery life to name a few.
The Watch 2 will flaunt its Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC. It does have GPS and an unknown IP rating too that keeps the smartwatch in check even if you decide to take a dip in the water. The OnePlus Watch 2 is speculated to make its debut early next year probably along with the OnePlus 12, 12R, and Buds Pro 3 although we aren’t certain about it at the time of writing this.
