Oppo launches Oppo A16 with G35 SoC, 3GB RAM & 5,000 mAh battery

Oppo has released the Oppo A16 after we have been hearing it for a while. The smartphone brings on-board a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD panel with a dewdrop-shaped notch that houses an 8MP sensor.

There’s a triple rear camera setup on the left corner housing a 13MP snapper with an 80-degree FoV plus a 2MP macro and a 2MP bokeh unit. It is backed with AI for better scene detection and shots. There’s AI Beautification on all the cams that enhance skin tones in the shots. You get access to 15 filters and 7 filters with the Bokeh shots that enhance the shots making it social media-ready.

The phone weighs 190 grams and has a thickness of just 8.4mm. It has a shiny, metallic finish at the back although it is plastic.

Oppo A16 is an entry-level smartphone with an Helio G35 SoC under the hood paired with 32GB storage and 3GB of RAM. There’s a microSD card slot that you can use for storage expansion. The device comes pre-loaded with ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 which brings a tonne of new features including Black Screen Mode, Game Assistant, FlexDrop among others.

Furthermore, the device is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery under the hood that you can charge using the USB-C port at the bottom. It’s Super Power Saving Mode at 5 percent will last 1.84 hours straight while engaging Super Nighttime Standby Mode reduces power consumption by 1.21 percent at night.

There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the right side on top of the power button as it has both purposes.

Oppo A16 arrives in three color options i.e. Crystal Black, Space Silver, and Pearl Blue priced at IDR1,999,000 in Indonesia. The price tag translates as $140 and it is now available in Indonesia via online retailers. However, its availability outside the country is still unknown.
