Google’s Personal Intelligence is a feature that helps Google users connect their information from Google services, such as Google Photos and Gmail, among others, to bring personalized results across Gemini. Unlike the usual AI results, these are unique to particular users, which makes it a must-have feature. It is akin to Apple’s Personalized Intelligence that works across Apple’s AI ecosystem.

According to Google, the feature takes inputs from Photos, Gmail, YouTube, Search, and others and supercharges its search while maintaining the security of the users at an exceptional level. The app has two core strengths, i.e., it helps with reasoning through complex sources and retrieving specific details from the user’s data when certain questions are asked. These results are unique because they are based on personal preferences and experiences.

Why does Google Personal Intelligence on Gemini matter to you?

When you go on Gemini (app or web), you basically have to type in the prompt or input, and may require constantly feeding in more information about yourselves to get personalized responses. With the feature in place, Gemini connects with your Google Services (the Google apps installed on your phone), accessing information from these apps to draft answers based on user queries. Since the data lives on Google securely, you don’t have to worry about your sensitive data being siphoned, but rather ensure a personalized experience at your disposal.

The feature is currently rolling out for users with Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscriptions. However, it will come across to free users as well in the coming weeks. If you are eligible, you can access the same features across iOS, Android, and Web. Note that eligible users should get a prompt or invitation to activate the feature; however, if not, they can do so by going to Gemini >> Settings >> Personal Intelligence >> Select Connect Apps (Gmail, Photos, etc.), and that should be done.

The Verge mentions Personal Intelligence on Gemini as a feature available in India and across the globe except in Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the European Economic Area.
