Every year, Asus launches its high-octane flagship smartphone in its ROG Phone lineup. It launched ROG Phone in June 2018 followed by ROG Phone 2 in July last year. This hints at its imminent refresh with Asus ROG Phone 3 that hasn’t yet been confirmed but the listings say otherwise.
Apparently, an Asus phone with model number I003DD appeared on Geekbench 5 and Wi-Fi Alliance listing recently that further puts stress towards its imminent launch. Although the company hasn’t confirmed it yet but since it arrived with a model number close to ROG Phone 2’ I001D, the resemblance is uncanny.
According to the Geekbench 5.1.1 listing, the phone is expected to arrive with an 8GB RAM and will be powered by top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC which seems legit since flagship phones sport latest SoCs. Next up, the phone will run on Android 10 OS. When it comes to the scores, Asus I003DD scored 902 points on its single-core test while scoring 3,074 points on the multi-core test.
Asus ROG Phone 3 reportedly made its presence felt on Wi-Fi Alliance as well dictating that it supports Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast support, 2×2 dual-band WI-Fi a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6) and it will be equipped with Qualcomm’s QCA6390 chipset to go with. All these listing and the close resemblance in terms of model number hints at the apparent and imminent launch of ROG Phone 3 soon.
According to the specs sheet by 91 Mobiles, the phone will sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 1080×2340 pixels resolution, 391 PPI density, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on-tap. It will sport a triple-camera setup with 48+13+8MP sensors at the back. We will keep you updated about Asus ROG Phone 3 here on True-Tech so keep an eye on it.
