Smartphone companies have really picked up their speeds in rolling out smartphones and especially Realme, the Oppo’s sub-brand, it is one of the fastest-growing companies. It recently unveiled its first-ever flagship smartphone Realme X2 Pro with 50W fast charge, Snapdragon 855+ on-board and much more. This might give you an idea that it would take the company a few months before rolling out yet another flagship phone but that isn’t the case with Realme as it has also posted a promotional teaser about its upcoming and its first-ever 5G phone.

Dubbed as Realme X50 5G, the device was teased by Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase on Weibo where he posted a teaser image showcasing a bit of information. First of all, the device will feature a dual-camera in an oval-shaped punch-hole front camera module that eliminates the need to have notch while allowing smartphones to have cut-outs for cameras without any external pop-up mechanisms.

But there’s more. Realme X50 5G is the company’s first-ever 5G-enabled device and will work on both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G networks that promise broader 5G coverage which is why it is taking positive response from media houses around the globe.

Realme also explained the logic behind the massive jump from X2 to X50 where X stands for the X series of smartphones from Realme, the number ‘5’ literally stands for the 5G network it will bring on-board and finally, the ‘0’ stands for the beginning of the 5G era in a leap year as 2020 will be a leap year with February having 29 days instead of 28 days as usual.

Apart from that, we don’t know much detail about the device except the speculations that there could be a Pro variant too that will entertain Snapdragon 865 which is touted to launch at the Snapdragon Summit to be held on December 3 through 5. On the other hand, the standard Realme X50 5G will probably have Snapdragon 735 5G ready although that remains yet to be confirmed so don’t just give away your expectations just yet.

We don’t know the exact release date either although Chase mentioned that the device is likely to arrive in Q1 2020 which is between January and March where I highly believe that it will release in February aka leap month. Stay tuned on True-Tech to get more intel on the same.
