Realme officially unveiled the GT 2 series in China. The lineup brings two new smartphones up to the ladder with a vanilla Realme GT 2 and a flagship-grade Realme GT 2 Pro powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Well, both the devices offer some of the best specifications.
There’s a new bio-based polymer back material mounted on two color variants on GT 2 that makes the panel feel like paper designed by Naoto Fukusawa who has experience designing various state-of-the-art Realme devices.
Realme GT 2 and GT 2 Pro Pricing and Availability
When it comes to the pricing, the Realme GT 2 commences at CNY 2,699 ($425) for the base 8GB+128GB storage while the higher 12GB+256GB variant is available at CNY3,199 ($503). You can try out Titanium Blue, Steel Black, Paper Green, and Paper White color variants with the Realme GT 2.
The Pro variant goes on sale at CNY3,899 for the 8GB+128GB which is translated as $613. The higher 12GB+512GB variant goes on sale at CNY4,999 or $787.
Talking about the availability, both the variants are available on sale from January 8 while its international availability is planned for Q1 2022 although dates are yet to be confirmed.
Realme GT 2 Pro Specifications
Starting with the flagship variant first, the Realme GT 2 Pro packs in a 6.7-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel with a QHD+ resolution and an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. The display comes with a 1,000 Hz touch sampling rate, 1000percent P3 gamut, 1.07billion colors thanks to the 10-bit color depth, and more.
The LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel consumes 50percent less power than LTPO AMOLEDs offering fine refresh rate adjustments between 30Hz and 120Hz. There’s Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top for protection against falls and drops.
Moving on, we have a 32MP selfie shooter in a punch-hole cut-out located on the top-left corner. There’s a triple rear camera setup with 50MP Sony IMX766 with f/1.8 aperture, 1.0micron pixel size, with omnidirectional PDAF with OIS. There’s a 50MP ultrawide sensor with a 150degree field of view and finally, there’s a 3MP microscope lens with 40z zoom for pretty close-ups shots.
Next up, we have a 5,000 mAh battery on-board with 65W fast wired charging tech and the device runs on Android 12-powered Realme UI 3.0 out-of-the-box.
Realme GT 2 Specifications
The vanilla variant of the GT 2 series is the Realme GT 2. It offers a slightly smaller 6.62-inch AMOLED 120Hz FHD+ panel with the same 32MP front selfie shooter. The device runs on Snapdragon 888 SoC instead of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on the GT 2 Pro but believe me, it doesn’t much difference given the fact that SD888 is a 2021 flagship chipset.
Moving on, there’s up to 256GB storage and 12GB of RAM with the vanilla variant. Both the devices have a 50MP primary IMX766 sensor with OIS while there’s an ultrawide and a macro sensor but of unknown specifications.
As said, both the devices have Android 12-powered Realme UI 3.0 which is a phenomenal UI. There’s also a 5,000 mAh that should keep you afloat for hours of aggressive usage while 65W fast wired charging tech gives you a sense of relief as it takes a third of an hour to juice it up.
