We saw a report about Realme Race with model number RMX2202 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC last December. It was also stated that the phone will arrive in the upcoming GT series. Cut to now, it is official that Realme will announce the next-gen Realme GT 5G on March 4 at 2 PM local time in China.
Realme VP Xu Qi Chase posted a launch poster on Weibo that gives hints at the upcoming smartphone series. The poster confirmed that the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and it is likely to be called Realme Race in the retail market. The device is likely to get up to 12GB, 256GB of storage and runs on Android 11-powered Realme UI 2.0 out-of-the-box.
The TENAA listing on Realme GT 5G confirms that the device sports a triple camera setup at the back and a punch-hole cut-out to the top-left corner. The rear camera assembly is rumored to get a 64MP primary sensor, 13MP ultrawide sensor, and a 13MP telephoto tertiary sensor. The display tech used by Realme GT 5G is expected to get an AMOLED panel given its flagship-grade. Also, it is likely to sport a 120Hz refresh rate although there are previous rumors that the Realme Race is likely to sport a 160Hz refresh rate.
There’s a huge list of rumored specs sheets. This includes a 5,000 mAh battery and up to 125W UltraDart charging tech that the device will use to fire up the battery pack. The device as the name suggests supports 5G connectivity.
According to leakster Digital Chat Station, the Realme GT 5G (or Realme RacE) has arrived in different designs where one has a leather-like texture while the other has a glass back. Apparently, the device could arrive in multiple finishes to choose from.
Finally, the Realme GT 5G will be announced on March 4 at 2 PM local time in China.
