OnePlus is a prominent Android smartphone brand with an alert slider that lets you slide between different sound profiles. Turns out Realme is working on a similar feature. Realme is a part of BBK Electronics group in China with OnePlus, Oppo, and Vivo being some of the sister smartphone brands.
Turns out tipster Yogesh Brar got a lead on the news along with MySmartPrice that hints about Realme “testing its devices with an alert slider”. This is a physical sound profile alert slider that gives you access to silent, vibrate, and ring mode all while you slide the alert slider from top to bottom and vice versa.
Smartphone OEMs under BBK Electronics are known for sharing resources between each associated company. Realme’s alert slider is a major USP on OnePlus flagship phones given that all the devices right from the OnePlus One to the OnePlus 10 Pro sport an alert slider.
Talking about Realme’s device with an alert slider, Yogesh Brar mentioned that the device is likely to hit the market sometime in April this year. As usual, there’s no information available about the same as of now. We do have a few Realme devices coming as early as next week i.e. March 10th. This includes Realme 9 5G and Realme 9 5G SE while a 4G variant of Realme 9 is in the news as well.
No other Android OEM has opted for a physical alert slider except OnePlus while Apple too has an alert slider onboard. It remains to be seen when the Realme device with an alert slider is announced.
