Red Magic 6S Pro Specifications
The Red Magic 6S Pro arrives with a 6.8-inch AMOLED FHD+ 8-bit panel with 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage. The display supports DC dimming and has a peak brightness of 700 nits on manual mode. The display has been rated with a 165Hz refresh rate with a multi-finger touch sampling rate of 720Hz. For context, the 6 Pro had 500Hz for one and 360Hz for multi-finger touches.
There are two shoulder triggers on the 6S Pro that offers 450Hz of touch sampling rate and has been optimized with Red Magic’s gaming software to run on a myriad of games including Fortnite, Real Racing 3, Genshin Impact among others.
Under the hood, Red Magic 6S Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 888+ SoC that has been clocked to 2.995GHz since it is an overclocked version of Snapdragon 888. There are 12GB and 16GB of RAM options as well as 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.
Red Magic 6S Pro gets an ICE 7.0 cooling system that now gets Phase Change Materials (PCM) capable of storing heat and releasing it slowly afterward. It should prevent immense heat from accumulating during computational activity. There’s an active cooling fan that spins at 20K rpm which increases airflow and pressure and comes tempered with a metal cover. This is a much-needed increase from 6 Pro’s 18K rpm spinning fans.
The phone has a triple rear camera with a 64MP plus 8MP ultrawide and a depth sensor which is the same setup as of Red Magic 6 Pro. The same goes for the front camera at an 8MP selfie shooter. Finally, the phone runs on Android 11-powered RedMagic OS 4.0 out-of-the-box.
Talking about the colorways, Red Magic 6S Pro is available in Cyborg Black and Ghost (Transparent) variants with four RGB LEDs attached to it.
Moving on, the phone gets an under-the-display fingerprint scanner capable of detecting heart rate as well. The UD FPS is capable of registering stimuli and responding in just 100ms.
Under the hood, the device gets its juice from 5,050 mAh for the international variant and ships with 66W charging support but there’s just a 30W fast charger supplied with the retail box. A 0 to 100 percent charge takes about 65 minutes thanks to the 30W charger.
Fortunately, the phone does have a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s a USB-C 3.0 port with DisplayPort capable of pairing the device with an external monitor. There’s Bluetooth v5.1 support as well. The device with Snapdragon 888+ has a 5G connectivity with up to 3.0Gbps uplink and up to 7.5 Gbps downlink. There’s dual-band Wi-iF- 6E capable of delivering data transfer of up to 6Gbps on the higher band.
