Samsung is all already to introduce their next J series smartphone in the Indian market. The South Korean smartphone company has already started sending out the media invites for the launch. The launch event for Samsung Galaxy J6 will take place on May 21.
The invite reads ” Say Hello to Infinity and More” and also shows a smartphone with Infinity display. The brand will introduce Galaxy J6 as well as another J series smartphone. Apart from that, two Galaxy A series smartphone will also make its way.
Today, Samsung made it official on its Indian Twitter handle that they will be bringing a Galaxy J6 smartphone on May 21. Talking about availability, the smartphone will be available in stores from the next day i.e May 22. They also revealed few design-related elements in their video tweet.
Samsung Galaxy J6 design and specifications
Samsung revealed that the upcoming Galaxy J6 will feature an Infinity Display as already seen in Galaxy S9. On top of that, we’ll see thin bezels with taller aspect ratio. We are already aware of the specifications and key features thanks to the previous leaks.
The Galaxy J6 will feature a 5.6-inch HD+ AMOLED Infinity Display having 18.5:9 aspect ratio and the display resolution of 1480 x 720 pixels. It might be powered by a Samsung’s very own Exynos 7870 processor. You’ll find the same processor in the Galaxy A6 (2018). There will be three different storage variants most likely having either 2GB RAM or 3GB RAM or 4GB RAM and up to 64GB onboard storage.
Speaking of optics, there is a single camera setup at the back with a 13-megapixel sensor. While on the front of the device, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. Both the front as well as rear camera sensors are accompanied by an LED flash. Other specifications include fast charging, Samsung Pay support, 3,000mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo.
Samsung Galaxy J4, Galaxy A6 (2018), and Galaxy A6+ (2018)
As already mentioned, Samsung is planning to announce not just one device but four different smartphones at the upcoming launch event. The brand might launch Galaxy J4, Galaxy A6 (208) and Galaxy A6+ (2018) alongside the J6.
The Galaxy J4 is more like an entry-level smartphone which will come with a regular display design having an aspect ratio of 16:9. The company might go with Exynos 7570 chipset on this device coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. There will be a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel camera selfie shooter.
The other two Galaxy A series smartphone will also launch on May 21. The Galaxy A6 (2018) will come with a 5.6-inch screen upfront while the Galaxy A6+ (2018) will sport a larger 6-inch display. Both the smartphones will come with Infinity Display having an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 as well as an AMOLED panel. In this smartphones, Samsung would go with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset instead of their Exynos.
Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) features a single camera at the front and back having a 16-MP sensor on both sides. While the plus variant will have dual camera setup at the back – 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The plus variant will also come with a 24-MP selfie shooter with f/1.9 aperture.
Other specifications include Samsung Pay, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and Android 8.0 Oreo. The A6 regular packs a 3,000mAh battery while A6+ comes with a larger 3,500mAh battery.
With Galaxy J6 and other upcoming devices, Samsung is going to compete with the likes of Xiaomi. The Chinese brand has already gained huge success in the Indian market which once Samsung used to have the position. Samsung now wants to showcase smartphones with refreshed design and specs as an answer to Xiaomi’s Redmi series.
