Every year, Samsung launches flagship S-series smartphones. It launched the S20 series on February 11, the S21 series on January 14, and the S22 series on February 9. Cut to now, it is believed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series is speculated to launch within a window of January 30 to February 5.
The said information comes from insiders who mentioned that the South Korean giant will hold the launch event in San Francisco launching the all-powerful trio globally. As usual, the launch is likely to happen in the first week of February 5 followed by two weeks of the pre-order period. The sale is likely to commence on February 17 although you need to take it with a pinch of salt at the moment.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Series – It’s all about Snapdragon SoCs
It has never been a matter of dispute that Samsung will raise the percentage of the S23 units to get Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs. However, with the latest update coming from Qualcomm itself, we say that the speculation has been confirmed throughout.
According to the latest earnings call from Qualcomm, Akash Palkhiwala – Qualcomm CFO, confirmed that they are expecting a higher throughput in the second half of Q1 2023. Apart from that, Palkhiwala mentioned that the total share of Galaxy S-series units with Qualcomm chipsets is finally set to rise from 75% although he didn’t specify the exact number associated with it.
The earnings call coincides with the Samsung Galaxy S23 series launch in the first quarter of 2023. It includes the trio – Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, that recently passed Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoCs. Samsung has partnered with Qualcomm on a multiyear basis that puts forth all premium Galaxy smartphones to get their hands on Snapdragon chipsets.
Apparently, although Palkhiwala mentioned that Qualcomm’s share in Samsung in terms of chipsets, is set to raise from 75% to a higher share, it doesn’t dispute that Exynos-powered S23 devices might not be completely ruled out of the picture.
