We’re already aware of the fact that Samsung is working on their higher end Galaxy tablet. It seems like the brand has another tablet in their lineup which goes by the name Samsung Galaxy Tab A2. This tablet is going to be the cheaper alternative to the higher Galaxy Tab S4.

Previously, the tablet popped up on the FCC listing revealing some of the specifications. We now know how the device will look like thanks to the recently leaked live images. Speaking of design, Galaxy Tab A2 looks pretty similar to the higher Galaxy Tab S4.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 live images reveal no home button

We’re receiving this live images from a tech publication known as 91Mobiles. The live images show the tablet in the powered on state giving us the glimpse of software it would be running on. The Galaxy Tab A2 runs on the very popular Samsung Experience UI.

Another thing live images tells us is the lack of a home button and thin bezels on the side making it look similar to the Galaxy Tab S4. Unfortunately, there is no image showing us the back of the tablet creating an uncertainty when it comes to the fingerprint sensor.  We’re speculating no fingerprint sensor at all since the back position would be an ergonomic issue. And considering the sensor behind the power button will not make it a cheaper option than Galaxy Tab S4. So, there is a high chance that the brand might skip it entirely.

The FCC listing did reveal some of the specifications of the device previously. To recall, Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 will sport a 10.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. There is no word on the processor which it will be packing inside. We do know about the variants it would be coming in WiFi as well as LTE having USB Type C charging port.

Since the device has already appeared in FCC listing and got the Bluetooth & WiFi certification, the official unveiling seems to be pretty close. There is no word on the availability, pricing and launch date. If you’re not aware, Samsung is about to reveal their next-gen Galaxy Note 9 at an event in New York on August 9.
