Samsung is currently working on another budget smartphone but this time with Android Go platform. This device will be the first device which runs Android Go platform by the brand. It will be an entry-level device with cropped down experience. Previously, a Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-J260G was leaked. As per the leak, the smartphone is being tested in dozens of the market across the globe including India, United States, and Russia.
Apart from this leak, the same device was leaked again two days ago giving us the glimpse of it. The leaked images showed us a small Android device with thick bezels running on Samsung’s very own Experience skin. The device doesn’t run on Stock Android which previously seems to be highly likely.

The same Samsung device today got its Wi-Fi certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. This listing reveals one small aspect of the device i.e Operating System. Samsung Android Go smartphone will run on the latest version of Android i.e. Android 8.1 Oreo. In Android Go platform, the device comes with Go (i.e lite) version of Google’s official app resulting in lightweight Operating System. With Android Go initiative, a cheap android device with 1GB or less RAM and small storage space can give improved user experience to the user.
Speaking of specifications, the smartphone might come with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the device may sport an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. All of this runs on a small 2,600mAh battery and Android 8.1 Oreo.
When it comes to availability, there is no word when the brand is going to launch this device, with what price tag and in which country. A report does suggest that this upcoming Android Go device is going to launch with Galaxy J2 Core branding but there is no hard evidence as of now.
