San Diego-based chipmaker Qualcomm welcomed its new chipset aka ‘Snapdragon 712’ which is a boosted version of popular SDM710. Although a plethora of specs are identical, the newer chipset promises a 10% increase in performance since there’s something that has been tweaked to get boosted performance stats.

As per the specs are concerned, the Snapdragon 712 is manufactured using 10nm FinFET process equivalent to Snapdragon 710 along with Adreno 616 GPU. However, although both have 8 Kryo 360 cores, the newer version has been boosted from 2.2 GHz maximum frequency to 2.3 GHz which made it possible for the chipset to achieve a 10% higher performance.

The Snapdragon 712 SoC is packed with a number of AI features and algorithms that it uses in voice, camera, and other features. It is feature-packed with Snapdragon 710 is less with 20 MP dual camera support and 32MP single shooter as it is equipped with Spectra 250 ISP technology providing 10 bits of color depth and displays vibrant 4K videos. SDM710 packed a Quick Charge 4 technology but the new SDM712 offers an enhanced Quick Charge 4+ technology tested to reckon battery life from 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes.

Overall, the chipset will provide lower thermals, optimizes applications and processes workload on the chip while optimizing and producing top-notched performance at all time. We might see smartphones sporting Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset early in few months in midrange smartphones oriented to perform photography, gaming, and other exhaustive tasks.
