While we are all going through a pandemic which is the COVID-19, there are announcements coming along the way as well. It is seen that the next generation of gaming consoles which are the Sony PlayStation 5 and also Microsoft’s Xbox Series X is scheduled to come later this year if everything goes as per plan. Talking about the offerings from Sony and Microsoft, it is seen that we know most of the things about the Xbox Series X whereas the PlayStation 5 is still quite unknown.

But Sony does not want to keep its fans waiting for long as the company has released what it calls the new “DualSense” controller that will wireless connect to your PlayStation 5. As far as the Sony PS5’s DualSense controller is concerned, we are seeing a drastic design change compared to last generation’s DualShock controller. This is because the DualSense controller for the PS5 now comes in a dual-tone design and has a light bar at the front rather than the back.

Also, Sony says that the DualSense controller now as new haptic feedback which should give gamers the feeling of actually playing the sport or being in that scenario. The company also talks about its new “adaptive triggers” that can adjust the resistance of the triggers for different gameplay effects.

Along with that, something which we personally like about this new controller is the fact that it has a built-in microphone meaning that you don’t always need a headphone and mic to stream while playing the game as your controller can also capture your voice, even though there is bound to be a lot of noise being picked up from the button presses.

Another major and much-needed change is that the DualSense controller now comes with a USB Type-C port rather than the micro USB port from earlier.

One change we don’t understand is that the share button, used to share the screenshots and gameplay to social media platforms, has been renamed to “create” button.

As per Sony, this will offer “new ways for players to create epic gameplay content to share with the world.” But the company has not revealed any further details on how that will work.

Regarding the price, there are no details given by Sony and we also understand the reason which is uncertainty due to the Coronavirus which could lead to delays in the launch and even increase in costs for manufacturing. However, it has to be noted that the DualSense controller is bound to be costlier than the DualShock 4 which was priced $59.99 at launch. In our opinion, the PS5’s DualSense controller could start at $99 from Sony.
