Vivo Y51 just got a revamp. In December 2015, the phone arrived with a 5” display, a Snapdragon 410 SoC, and a 2,350 mAh battery. Cut to now, the new Vivo Y51 arrives with a mid-range Snapdragon 665 SoC and comes pre-loaded with Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10. The chipset has eight cores including 4×2.0GHz Kryo 260 Gold high-performance and 4×1.8GHz Kryo 260 Silver power-efficient cores. It is flanked with an Adreno 610 SoC that keeps an eye on its graphics processing. The phone has a single 4GB+128GB of storage configuration.
Vivo announced the Vivo Y51 with a large 6.38” FHD+ Ace AMOLED panel with a waterdrop-shaped notch on top. The display has a 1080×2340 pixels resolution with 404 PPI density. The bezels are tiny and on point keeping the phone segment in mind. The notch houses a 16MP selfie shooter. Flip the phone and you’ll see the popular diamond-shaped rear camera setup that was earlier introduced with Vivo S1 Pro in India.
The rear camera setup has four lenses which include a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor housed inside the camera bump with a LED flash under it. A giant 4,500 mAh battery which is twice the size of its predecessor sits inside the chassis. It weighs at 186.7 grams and its chassis is 8.7mm thickness. As said the phone has some of the elements inspired by Vivo S1 Pro and the colorways that both the devices offer are identical as well.
The new Y51 is a Hybrid Dual SIM slot that can be used with a microSD card. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band support along with Bluetooth 5.0 with LE, A2DP. Finally, it also supports A-GPS, BDS, Galileo, and Glonass.
