Originally scheduled to launch in March, Vivo V19 was finally launched in India earlier today sporting dual pill-shaped punch-hole cameras and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC. Vivo was forced to delay the launch due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the massive lockdown that is expected to be lifted on May 17. However, since the Government of India has opened up for certain non-essential services in green and orange zones in the country, Vivo swooped the opportunity to showcase its majestic Vivo V19.
Talking about the specifications, the phone sports a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixels resolution with a dual punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner. The front display is protected by the sturdy Corning Gorilla Glass 6 that gives it resistance against several falls. The bezels are decently sized with a tiny chin although not as per a flagship smartphone as Vivo V19 is a mid-ranger. It runs on Android 10-based FunTouch OS 10 that makes it a recipient of the upcoming Android 11 sometime next year.
Moving on, there’s a dual punch-hole camera setup at the front carrying a 32MP and an 8MP sensor with super wide-angle selfie, super night selfie, ultra-stable video, and other features. On the backside, there’s an L-shaped quad-camera setup inside a rectangular camera module sporting a 48MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.79, an 8MP wide-angle sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 and two 2MP sensors with an aperture of f/2.4 supporting the functionalities of a dedicated macro and depth functions.
Furthermore, the device sports a 4,500 mAh battery along with a 33W FlashCharge 2.0 support. Apart from that, Vivo V19 will support Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz) among others. The device also hosts a in-display fingerprint scanner so it is a complete package.
Under the hood, you would find a mid-range Snapdragon 712 SoC with 8GB RAM and two storage capacities o,f 128GB, and 256GB. According to the Indian pricing for Vivo V19, the 8GB+128GB variant will go on sale at Rs 27,990/- while the higher 8GB+256GB variant will fetch a price tag of Rs 31,990/-. Both the variants will be available in two color options i.e. Mystic Silver and Piano Black and will go on sale from May 15 onwards.
Vivo V19 as the successor of Vivo V17 will be available on Vivo’s eStore, Amazon, Flipkart, and other eCommerce sites along with partner offline stores. There is a tonne of offers interested parties can get their hands on such as a 10% cashback on ICICI and HDFC credit cards along with Rs 40,000 worth of Jio benefits, no-cost EMI of up to 12 months and a one-time screen replacement offer to go with it. There’s also free Airtel Xstream Premium, Airtel double Data, and a month of free access to Shaw Academy that the buyers will get with their units.
