WhatsApp has brought a large number of features right from making one-to-one chatting to group chatting with more than 1.2 billion users on-board and counting. It rolled out voice calls and video calls as well and since then, there has been a number of updates towards making WhatsApp what it is now. According to the latest update, WhatsApp will shortly roll out a feature called ‘Swipe to Reply’ for Android smartphones since it is already available in iOS.
About the ‘Swipe to Reply’ feature, it works when you receive a message on WhatsApp and want to reply hassle-free without opening the chat and replying it. You can simply swipe to the right to get an instant reply context where you can reply instantly. The update was spotted by WABetaInfo in its beta version 2.18.282 under Google Play Beta Programme, however, it was not available to the public due to some development reasons but it seems like WhatsApp has already worked out with the feature that must roll out in few updates now.
As per the features to be rolled out in future updates, WhatsApp will be available in Dark Mode too that will add the much-need dark theme to the famous messaging app along with saving a tonne of battery backup that goes in illuminating the screen for its luminous GUI even when your phone is set on the lowest brightness. It will be a boon for those smartphones with an OLED display as it will reduce the amount of battery consumption that the screen consumes when in light mode. The other crucial impact of the feature will be a less strain to the eyes when using under low-light or night conditions although the timeline for its release remains under wraps till now.
