  • DCS hinted a giant 10,000mAh smartphone is in the works heading for a first half of 2026 release.
  • Rumors has it, we will get to see Realme who has already showcased a 10,000mAh battery tech based on silicon-carbon technology.
  • Soon, we will see a new breed of smartphones with larger battery sizes such as 7000mAh, 8000mAh and beyond.

We got a phone with an 8000mAh battery earlier this year, but it seems yanking up to a 10,000mAh smartphone battery won’t take much time. Turns out, Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) caught a rumor doing the rounds revealing an unnamed phone is in the making with a 10,000mAh battery pack on-board.

Get ready for a 10000mAh smartphone launching early next year

Tipster DCS took it to Weibo stating that there’s a 10000mAh smartphone in the works. We have plenty of phones with 7000mAh batteries that you can read here. We got Honor Power in China earlier this year with an 8000mAh battery and there are a few makers who are experimenting with higher battery capacities such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, iQOO, etc.

Circling back to DCS’s quote, he didn’t mention any make or model, however, it did mention the launch timeline which is the first half of 2026. The phone is already in the testing phase and if rumors are to be believed, DCS could be talking about Realme here.

It is only logical given Realme is already working on large-capacity batteries and took it to the internet to tease a phone with a 10000mAh battery under the hood. Realme is using something called Silicon-carbon battery, which is denser than conventional graphite-based batteries. The newer tech is able to squeeze in up to 4200mAh capacity per gram, whereas graphite batteries max out at 372mAh per gram.

Given the humongous difference in capacity, we could see larger batteries making it to smartphones in the coming years. In fact, Realme could tease the actual 10000mAh smartphone with a thickness of just 8.5mm, which is similar to commercial phones that are sold today, using the new battery tech.

Having a larger battery on-board has become a necessity as you don’t have to rely on power or charging, given the insane battery life. It also translates into endurance, and with the new tech in the work, smartphone makers can make design choices with a larger battery while keeping the chassis thickness in check.
