WWDC 2015: What is going to be introduced?

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 (also known as WWDC 2015) is going to be in June 8th. They will provide a roadmap for their products.

We’ve made list of things Apple may introduce this year in WWDC 2015. It might be iOS 9, OS X 10.11, Apple Music and updates for Watch OS.

iOS 9

iOS 9 will be most important topic there. Hundreds of millions of people use iPhones and iPads every day. They are going to improve its mobile operating system. They will fix bugs and will add better support for older devices.

New interface and new font
iOS 9 will look very similar to iOS 8. Some colours will be changed in the system and in some app icons. Siri wave will have same look as in Apple Watch.

Improvements and Bug Fixes
iOS 9 will be faster and have more features. It will also improve experience for all iOS devices. Most important is improving stability for users with iOS 9.

Maps
Transit directions will be added. It will allow to search for bus routes, subway, train and airport directions. This feature will be first available in China, San Francisco, New York, Toronto, London, Berlin and Paris. They’re getting data for Tokyo and Boston.

They’re also taking pictures of storefronts to add it to their maps. It’s still unconfirmed if they’re going to replace Yelp photos.

Phone, iCloud Drive and Trusted Wi-Fi security improvements
Phone – New feature will prevent malware, increase security of plug-ins and sensitive data.
iCloud Drive – Notes, Reminders and Calendar will have synchronisation with iCloud Drive.
Trusted Wi-Fi – This will allow devices to authorise to saved wireless network without any security problems.

Split-Screen
Apple will probably add their new split-screen feature to their iOS 9. It will allow users to have document and web browser open side-by-side.

Improved Legacy Device Support
Old iOS upgrades had tendency to slow down device, but now, they will increase the speed of their older devices.

Swift 2
Apple will introduce Swift 2 for developers. This will decrease the application size because Swift libraries will be preinstalled.

Proactive – Google Now competitor
Apple will launch their new Proactive which will be a competitor of Google Now. It will replace pulldown Spotlight menu found in home screen.

Apple Pay for Canada
After success in United States, Apple takes step on and Apple Pay will launch in Canada.

Force Touch
Existing iPhones will not receive this feature, but iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus users will get this feature. It will include new API for developers to enhance their applications.

OS X 10.11

After interface re-design in Yosemite, Apple will match iOS 9 and go to basics with OS X 10.11.

User Interface and New Font
The new OS X will have new font as it will have iOS 9.

Control Center
New OS X will have some new features for Mac users. They’re testing new Control Center for Mac which will bring menu from the left same was as Notification Center does.

Computer, iCloud Drive and Trusted Wi-Fi improvements.
They will introduce Rootless to the computers too. But the difference will be you can disable Rootless in OS X. They’re not going to remove OS X Finder now.

Apple Music

Except upgrading OS X and iOS, Apple will introduce new music platform called Apple Music. It will be powered by Beats Music after its acquisition with Beats. They will launch it in late June. It will be integrated in iTunes 12.2 for OS X and Windows and will release an update for Apple TV. They will also add new iTunes Radio.

Apple Music
The streaming service will debut as a component of Apple’s redesigned Music application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It will have two main sections: “My Music” and “Playlists”. Both of them will have Apple Music integrated.

It also indicated which applications are stored in the cloud and which are saved for offline playback. You can organise content by Artists, Albums, Songs, Music Videos, Genres, Composers and Compilations.

New iTunes Radio
Apple will also launch their new upgrade for iTunes Radio. iTunes Radio will combine DJ-ed stations with classic Pandora-like view. It will gain ability to skip music for unlimited amount of times. New stations will be powered by celebrities.

Social Ties
Apple plans to introduce its new music services as part of iOS 8.4 update. They’re going to release it on last week of June.

Pricing and Free Trial
The price will be $10 per month. This will match actual Spotify and Beats Music plan. They will be offering free trial between one and three months at launch. attains Radio will be free with ads, but premium package (tied to Apple Music) will be without them. Current version limits are 5 skips per hour per station.

Country Availability
Apple is focusing on ensuring that their new service will be available widely across the world. They will have long list where they will launch their service.

Apple Watch

When Apple Watch just launched few weeks ago, it is unlikely that they have major overhaul.

Native SDK for Developers
Apple Watch will run faster and smoother starting this autumn. They’re planning to release first beta of native Apple Watch SDK to developers at WWDC.

Future Software Updates
Apple may not choose WWDC to announce updates to Watch OS.

Untethered Hardware
Apple is making plan of making Apple Watch independent from iPhone. It means it will work without iPhone or any device and will be able to do more things on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
