Microsoft has announced the XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition as part of its XBOX 25th Anniversary celebration. The special-edition console is joined by the XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, both featuring a translucent OG Green design inspired by the original XBOX. The collection celebrates 25 years of XBOX and honors the players who have supported the platform since its launch.
XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition
The new XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition is a special version of the XBOX Series X. It is the first Xbox Series X model to feature a translucent design. Microsoft said the console was inspired by the original XBOX and its iconic green color.
The console includes the same performance as the standard XBOX Series X and comes with 1 TB of storage. It also features special anniversary details, including a green-lit XBOX logo and a 25th Anniversary badge on the front. The company states that the console contains additional hidden design elements as a thank-you to XBOX fans.
XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition
Microsoft is also launching the XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition. The controller matches the console with a translucent green design.
Several details are inspired by the original XBOX. The controller includes the classic ABXY button colors and bumpers that reference the black and white buttons found on the original “Duke” controller. The back of the controller is fully transparent to let players see the classic XBOX logo inside.
Release date and availability
The XBOX 25th Anniversary console and controller will be available together as a limited-edition bundle in November in select markets.
The XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition will also be sold separately for consumers who only want the controller. Anyway, Microsoft has not yet announced pricing or preorder details. The company said more information will be shared soon.
