Xiaomi has officially confirmed the Xiaomi 17T series launch date. The company announced that the new smartphone lineup will launch globally on May 28. Xiaomi also shared a poster showing the design of the phones and confirmed that the series will feature Leica-tuned cameras.

The Xiaomi 17T series is expected to include the standard Xiaomi 17T and the higher-end Xiaomi 17T Pro, both of which are set to feature Leica-tuned camera systems and MediaTek chipsets.

Xiaomi confirms global launch of 17T series

Xiaomi shared the announcement through its official X account, where the company described the upcoming lineup as its “biggest T Series upgrade yet.”

The official teaser poster shows a square-shaped rear camera module placed at the top-left corner of the phone. Xiaomi also confirmed that the devices will come with a Leica-powered triple rear camera setup. However, the company has not yet revealed the full camera specifications.

Previously, leaked renders that surfaced online suggest both models will feature a flat rear panel and flat sides. Also, the power button and volume controls are expected to be placed on the right side of the devices, while reports also hint at an additional button on the left side.

Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro expected specifications

Ahead of the official unveiling, several leaks have already revealed key details about the Xiaomi 17T series ahead of launch. According to reports, both smartphones are expected to use MediaTek processors.

The standard Xiaomi 17T is rumored to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T Pro could arrive with the flagship-level MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is also expected to feature a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. The regular Xiaomi 17T may come with a slightly smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Camera performance is expected to be one of the major highlights of the Xiaomi 17T series. Reports suggest both phones will feature a 50MP primary camera, although they may use different sensors.

The Xiaomi 17T is tipped to feature a Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro could use the more advanced Light Fusion 950 sensor.

Both devices are also rumored to include a 50MP telephoto camera with support for up to 5x optical zoom, along with a 12MP ultrawide camera.

In terms of battery capacity, the Xiaomi 17T may pack a 6,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. The Xiaomi 17T Pro, on the other hand, is expected to feature a larger 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
